A penalty just before the break saw a save roll into Lahmari’s feet to slam home a win, in what is the furthest the debutants will progress at the World Cup, and the earliest Germany will be knocked out.

Colombia entered this fixture as leaders of Group H, with 2 wins after 2 games. Whereas, Morocco needed a clean sheet and many goals to qualify for the Round of 16, if Germany were to win against South Korea.

A back and forth first half, saw multiple attacks from both sides.

Colombia relied heavily on Linda Caicedo’s crosses into the box, but each ball in was either received poorly in the box or a shot gone over. Whereas, Morocco dominated the attacking front at Perth in the salty stages of the game.

This dominating play was rewarded by a penalty in extra-time of the first half. Chebbak steps up to the spot and struck it bottom right, but Perez got a hand to it. The ball rolled out towards Lahmari who slammed it home for Morocco, in what is a shock lead for the debutants.

Half time: Morocco 1-0 Colombia

Play gets under way again, with Morocco in a well-deserved lead. With constant checks to the Germany fixture, Moroccan fans were pleased to see that Morocco were through to the next round at the break, as South Korea found the net.

As it stood around the hour mark, both Morocco and Colombia would progress to the knockout stage.

Full time: Morocco 1-0 Colombia

No change to the score in the second half saw a historical moment for Morocco!
