Michael Cheek has been a fan favourite at Bromley Football Club since May 2019. Since then, he has kept scoring for the Ravens, having been a long-time goalscorer in the National League for various clubs. The 24/25 season is his first time in the Football League, and since the season started in August, he has continued where he had left off for Bromley.
Since Bromley's promotion to League Two, many National League sides will be glad to see that Michael Cheek won't be terrorising their defences anytime soon, and for good reason. In his spell at the club, he scored 151 National League goals, just over 100 for Bromley, including two historic goals in the Playoff Final at Wembley earlier this year.
With Bromley being a relatively small club, many overlooked the Ravens to finish highly when making predictions as to where they would land in the table by the end of the season and with this, the majority also overlooked Micahel Cheek.
Bromley's supporters were confident though in his ability to score goals at any level given what a clinical finisher he often is.
So far, Bromley have played nine league games and sit 19th with two wins, three draws, and four losses. Michael Cheek has scored six goals so far, the latest coming against familiar foes Chesterfield, which for now has seen him as the highest goalscorer in League Two, proving many of the doubters wrong.
Six goals in nine games is a fantastic return for any striker, but to do it in a new division following promotion is nothing short of remarkable.
Cheek's impressive form has not only silenced his critics but has also reinvigorated Bromley's attacking options as they adjust to the challenges of League Two. His experience and knack for finding the back of the net have been invaluable for the team, especially in tight matches where goals are at a premium.
Bromley's journey so far this season reflects a mix of resilience and determination. Despite the rocky start, the team has shown glimpses of the potential that got them promoted in the first place. With Cheek leading the line, they possess a formidable weapon capable of turning games around and securing crucial points.
As the season progresses, the pressure will be on Cheek to maintain his scoring streak and help lift Bromley away from the relegation zone. Fans hope he can continue his rich vein of form, providing inspiration and leadership on the pitch.
If he can keep up this momentum, there's no telling how far Bromley can climb in the league. With upcoming fixtures against many new teams, Cheek will remain the focal point of Bromley's attack.
If he can capitalize on these opportunities, the Bromley faithful may witness their team firmly establishing itself in League Two, all while cheering on their talisman, who has repeatedly proven that he is more than capable of rising to the occasion. As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on Michael Cheek to see if he can continue to make his mark and help Bromley defy expectations in League Two.
