Georgia Healy: Women’s Young Player of the Season
Healy is a testament to the strength of the women’s football pathway at City, having been at the club since she was eight. In the 2022/23 season, she had a successful campaign with the u23s, winning the Player’s Player award, and broke into the first team at the beginning of this campaign.
At just 17, her cemented place on Walton’s team sheet is very impressive, having made the starting 11 in all 20 of her appearances this season.
Latrell Humphrey-Ewers: Men’s Young Player of the Season
Humphrey-Ewers played a huge part in City’s promotion in his breakthrough season last campaign and has most certainly kept this momentum going this season. This is his second successive campaign in which he has been awarded the Young Player of the Season status, showing the impact he has within the squad.
Amber Le Beau: Women’s Supporters' Player of the Season
Le Beau joined City in the 2022/23 campaign, starting her City career as part of the U23s squad. However, her talent quickly shone through and she made her first team debut shortly after and did not look out of place under Aliyah Anthony.
As with Healy, Le Beau has become a prominent figure in City’s back line, making a total of 19 appearances across all competitions this season, having started 18 of them.
Josh Parker: Men’s Supporters' Player and Player’s Player of the Season
Parker’s double award is a testament to his impressive season with the Hoops’, having clocked up the most minutes of any City player in the Vanarama National League this season.
His 14 goals over 39 appearances in the campaign show the importance of the forward in City’s attack, a position that he has worked hard to obtain in only his second season as part of the Hoops’.
Ellie White: Women’s Player’s Player of the Season
White is such an important player for Walton’s side, having scored 24 goals in 20 games this season, making her the top scorer in the league, by a healthy margin.
Another positive for City is that the second-highest goal scorer in the league is also part of the Hoops’ squad, with Emily Harris netting a total of 19 goals this season.
As such a huge part of the success of City’s campaign, she will be looking to get her name on the scoresheet once again in the Oxfordshire Women’s Cup Final on May 9th, a postponed fixture from the end of April.
Patrick Lock: Club Person of the Year
An award introduced this season as a way of recognising lesser publicised individuals at the club who go above and beyond behind the scenes.
Patrick Lock has worked alongside City’s media team for 8 years completely on a volunteer basis. This season, he has been producing programmes for the Hoops’, a timely task, alongside his full-time job.
It’s great that figures who work so hard for the club are getting recognition for their work. The club is extremely thankful for all the work that Lock has put in over the years, and everyone agrees he is highly deserving of the award.
Zac McEachran: Community Player of the Season
Yet another new award introduced this season, this recognition is for the player who has given the most back to the community thoughout the campaign.
McEachran’s role in helping the club’s Alternative Provision college course with Velocity Football has earned him the award.
This is his third award in two years, having won both Player’s Player and Supporter’s Player last season, showing his prominence in the City side.
Lewis Coyle: Goal of the Season
This award had 10 potential contenders, 5 from the Women’s First Team and 5 from the Men’s.
Coyle topped the vote with his curling top-left corner strike against Eastleigh, in an away fixture in which the Hoops’ came back from 2 goals down to salvage a point.
Between Jenkins’ and Walton’s squads, City have racked up over 110 goals this season, but Coyle’s goal towards the beginning of the campaign is a worthy winner.
Reece Fleet: Award for 400 Appearances
Fleet became the first player to reach 400 appearances for the club in over half a century, and only the 6th player to reach such a milestone, during City’s outing against AFC Fylde in March.
In his two spells with City, he has most certainly made his mark, and is now closing in on Ron Goodison’s total of 431 appearances in the years 1950-1966.
For his dedication to City, he has been recognised with a special award to commemorate his reaching of such a huge milestone.
Mark Neal and Belinda House: Supporters of the Year
Another two people who have shown incredible dedication to City this season are Neal and House, who have followed the Hoops up and down the country to ensure their support was present at every men’s game in this campaign.
Their support has been huge this season, having been with City every step of the way, and their remarkable efforts to continue to travel to games even after City’s confirmed relegation has not gone unnoticed by the club.
As a way of thanking them for their incredible support, City have offered them a free hotel stay with breakfast for any game next season.
A huge congratulations to all the award winners, to both squads, and to the staff who have been part of another memorable season in Oxford.
