Shimizu and Miyazawa send Japan through to the Quarter finals.

Japan cruise pass the Norwegians to step closer to winning the World Cup for the second time.


Japan took a lead in the 15th minute after Hinata Miyazawa crossed the ball in from the left but Norways's Ingrid Engine got her bearings wrong and took the ball pass the goalkeeper.


Since the first minute Japan took full control of the game but after the Norwegians first chance they made it 1-1. A great ball in by Vilde Boe Risa who crossed it in from the right were Chelsea star Guro Reiten met the ball in the air and headed it home. This is the first goal Japan have conceded this tournament.

To end the half Japan kept the possession and created the most chanced but the Norwegians held it well and went into half time level.


After many chances since half time, Japan did manage to take the lead yet again, after Risa Shimizu got on the end of a bad clearance from Boe Risa to power it home to make it 2-1 in the 50th minute.


It was not long after, the Japanese got their 3rd of the game and their 14th of the tournament. After a great counter attack lead by Aoba Fujino the ball was placed well straight to Miyazawa were she slotted it into the bottom corner.


The Japanese will face either the USA or Sweden on Friday to try and make it to the semi finals.
