Transfer policy:
At times Manchester United's transfer policy has looked like a mess, with the signing of Antony for approximately £80 Million or for instance the club signing of Mason Mount in which according to leaks Manchester United's transfer committee went over budget by £20 million. I believe that if Sir Jim Ratcliffe brings in names such as Dan Ashworth as Director of football and Paul Mitchell as head of recruitment, Manchester United would reap the rewards of a highly structured and experienced transfer team. Furthermore, this would benefit Erik Ten Hag as he is used to working in this structure as he did in Ajax with Edwin Van Der Sar and Marc Overmars.
Stadium redevelopment:
Firstly, the stadium has a rich history, but it's been around for over a century. Upgrading it would bring in modern amenities, better infrastructure, and improved facilities for fans. Imagine more comfortable seating, enhanced food and beverage options, and upgraded restrooms. Secondly, with Manchester United being such a popular club, the demand for tickets is sky-high. Increasing the seating capacity would allow more fans to witness the magic of Old Trafford in person. Lastly, redevelopment could open up new revenue opportunities, like improved corporate hospitality spaces and retail areas, which would help the club financially. Overall, a revamped Old Trafford would provide a more enjoyable experience for fans and ensure the stadium remains a legendary football destination.
Easing wage budget:
I believe one of the worst things in the case of Manchester United's problems is the wage budget. They Have the highest wage budget of £201,000,000 per year. An entire £9 million over Manchester City. Evidently there is nothing to show for it, the top earners being, Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, and Jadon Sancho. In my opinion for both of these cases, the wage is unjustified, Jadon Sancho signed with Manchester United for £74 million in the summer of 2021 from Borussia Dortmund at the age of 21. I believe that no 21-year-old should be getting such a wage at Manchester United as the culture around the club is to nurture players into playing better and reward them with higher wages gradually. However, in the case of Jadon Sancho, Manchester United sent him to the top and I believe this created complacency and enhanced the toxicity in the Manchester United dressing room. Evidently in my opinion this is being shown by Sancho's stubbornness currently in refusing to apologise to Erik Ten Hag. The second case would be joint top earner, Marcus Rashford, In my opinion Marcus is a quality player who consistently provides a constant threat to any game, the issue with him is in terms of output, he performs in purple patches, he seems to dip in and out of form, and while he is a top performer, he is not a £350k per week player to my view.
