Why Kane is integral to the England set-up

Since the tournament has begun, Kane has been under intense scrutiny by fans and media alike with many fans even mentioning the thought of beching Kane for an Ollie Watkins or an Ivan Toney.

So far, Kane has two goals within four games in the tournaments. However, Kane's game has moved past the simple objective of scoring goals and has moved into a more playmaking role. However, he has struggled in this role thus far in the tournament to achieve this role in the prolific success he has had with either Bayern Munich or Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane's game plan mainly relies on having runners or at least someone supporting his attacking efforts. Evidence of this is Ivan Toney's assist to him following the corner for the winner against Slovakia. Toney's looping header which found Kane is something which England could utilise more if the Bayern Munich man had a regular strike partner.

This shows why Kane is integral to England. When the going gets tough, he can always come through with a clutch goal or assist to aid England in the win. He has done it time and time again in tournament after tournament including the last European Championships where he scored the winner in the semi-finals against Denmark in a similar situation to the goal against Slovakia in the round of 16.

Kane is the highest goalscorer for England in its history since he made his debut for the team in 2015. He is also the captain of the side and the most experienced aside from Kyle Walker.

Kane is a leader on the pitch that the players around him arguably need in order to improve and to also become big game players, which Bellingham seems to also be reaching with his injury time equaliser against Slovakia and the winning goal in the opener against Serbia.

A leader like this on the pitch is integral, especially for the younger players in attack as Kane has now entered his thirties with the talisman turning 31 shortly after the tournament. With the youngest player around his attack being Bukayo Saka at 22, his international experience would be invaluable in order to help motivate and encourage players to get through each game as well as adding he instinctive quality of a world class striker.
