Wolves have had a miserable start to the season, despite their performances suggesting otherwise, with Gary O'Neil's team being one of four winless team after the first eight games of this Premier League season.
Wolves have had it tough through their first eight games. They have had to face Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester City as well as an in-form Nottingham Forest. Not to anyone's surprise, they would lose all these games, with their only point so far to this point in the season being a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
Despite this, they have still kept themselves in these games with Manchester City having to come back from 1-0 down to clinch the three points in the dying embers of the game with a controversial goal. Additionally, only Arsenal have kept a clean sheet against Wolves, despite the obvious advantage these top level teams have in stars and quality.
Performances or not, Wolves have fallen to 20th accumulating just a single point and the worst goal difference in the league with a -13 differential.
Despite this differential, they have still scored ten goals, which is more than Southampton, Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town and Everton who all fill out the bottom five in the league along with Wolves.
This shows, if anything, Wolves have been unlucky to come away with more than one point despite their strong showing in each of their games so far this season.
Despite the rough start to the season, Wolves can look to build upon their season and escape the daunting relegation zone. Their next few gameweeks include games with the likes of Bournemouth, Everton and Ipswich Town.
This would be perfect for Gary O'Neil's side to get back into the winning column and try and push forward with their campaign after having a rather unlucky start to their season.
